National Alpaca Farm Day 2011

National Alpaca Farm Day 2011

Event Dates: Sep 24, 2011 - Sep 25, 2011

Event Location:
Nobility Alpacas, Ltd
99 Heffner Road
Wernersville PA, 19565

Event Directions: see: Visit the Farm

Alpacas are from the camelid family and are related to camels, llamas, vicuna and guanacos.  They are raised for their exquisite fiber, which is soft as silk, lightweight, warm and has no lanolin or scales to make it scratchy or irritating to the skin.

We raise Suri alpacas, the more rare of two types of alpacas.

Come visit the farm and learn about alpacas, try a project with their fiber, see fiber spun on a spinning wheel,  meet our alpacas, older and new, and our guard Llama, Prince.  Buy a hat, gloves scarf or socks for this winter or buy some amazing alpaca yarn and knit or crochet your own!

You will be glad you came!

Watching a new cria arrive and learn how to interact with the world is a fascinating experience.  Once they, literally, hit the ground, they learn to stand up on long, weak, wiggly legs and find their source of milk all by themselves. In their first day, they run, roll, and even play with other crias. Amazing!
