We certainly want to sell alpacas and have wonderful animals to offer. However, without planning for genetic diversity in your herd, a breeder could end up with many female alpacas with whom you could not breed any of your male alpacas.
With some simple planning for diversity, a breeder can, optimally, develop a herd which can be bred within your herd without line breeding. Outside breedings keep diversity continuous and those choices should be made with care as well.
We have developed a charting system that allows a purchaser to plan for this diversity before purchase and can assist in this process. We will also find alpacas for your purchase from other breeders if we do not have all that you need for a well balanced herd.
